Our rural practice Partner, Geoffrey Bishop, heads the department and has practised in the locality since 1987. He is a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).

The department also has the benefit of Assistant Agricultural Surveyor, Lucy Kay (MRICS), who joined the enlarged practice in 2006.
The department provides the following services:

• Management and valuations of Farms and Estates;
• Sales and letting of Farms and agricultural land;
• Professional advice and valuations for end of tenancy claims, rent review, tenantright, stocktaking, probate and insurance purposes;
• Negotiating and advising on compulsory purchase and wayleave agreements;
• Preparation of agreements for agricultural tenancies, grasskeeping, and the expanding markets of telecommunications acquisitions and wind farms;
• Preparation and advising on the setting up of contract farming agreements;
• Advice and applications for rural property planning and development;
• Advice on the Single Payment Scheme

We co-run the Annual Corby Glen Sheep Fair which has been in existence in one form or other for the last 760 years. This fair takes place in October and is for breeding and store sheep.

We also provide advice and assistance for farm deadstock sales with a fully computerized sales system.
